  • Squarespace is a user-friendly website platform that makes beautiful design easy and accessible. With its streamlined hosting and content management system (CMS), Squarespace allows creatives to easily manage their own websites, even with no prior experience. Really simply, Amadeus recommends Squarespace over other platforms as it is so easy to update and manage for non-tech people.

  • You’ll need to pay separately for two things: (1) the registration of your domain (otherwise known as your URL or website address). This can generally be prepaid for around three years through providers such as GoDaddy; and (2) a Squarespace subscription. These vary from around $35 per month, or $300 per annum; you can check out Squarespace pricing here.

    When comparing the costs of Squarespace to other platforms, bear in mind that this fee includes an best-in-class, easy-to-use content management system, hosting and security certificate, which you need to pay separately for with some other website platforms.

  • Yes, we offer an eCommerce add-on which can be added to the Artist Website package for $550. Squarespace offers fantastic commerce options, and you can check out their pricing here.

  • It’s a brief, personal statement that articulates your creative philosophy and provides insight into your work, helping people understand and connect with your intentions and artistic process. You may be called to provide this when presenting your work in exhibitions, galleries, artist portfolios, grant applications, or any situation where you need to provide additional context about your artistic practice.

    Even if you’re not a ‘100% serious’ artist (yet!) an artist’s statement is a brilliant exercise that helps you gain clarity about your art, what gives you inspiration, as well as making great copy for the ‘About page’ of your website.

  • Not for Artist Websites at the moment, the reason being that we know Squarespace inside out, which makes the process much more efficient and we can keep it as affordable as possible. We’ll let you know if this changes though!

  • Not at all. We’ll recommend a font that you can use for a simple and elegant visual identity.

  • After we’ve received your enquiry, we’ll be back in touch with a link to gather some more details, as well as our project invoice.

    Once the invoice has been paid, we’ll send you an Artist’s questionnaire, where we can gather your social media links (if applicable) as well as find out about your art, approach and process. All of this information helps enormously in understanding the aesthetic that will be best to bring your website to life and support your art (fonts, colours etc).

    We’ll then present three options for the visual appearance of your website, as well as the first draft of your artist statement. You’ll then have an opportunity to provide feedback for refinement on both words and visuals.

    Once it’s approved, you’ll send through high-resolution images of up to 12 pieces of work and we’ll build your site!

  • Certainly, although the purchase of this is best left to you so that you can stay on top of your payment details in the future. We recommend GoDaddy for the purchase of domains due to ease-of-use and outstanding customer support.

  • Sure! We’d just need some more information to get the exact scope and provide an accurate cost estimate.

  • No! After building 60+ websites we love the platform and genuinely believe it is the best option for non-tech people with high design standards.
